YES! 🙂 Ok really though, its February!! So, you have your Valentine or your Galentines…now how do you celebrate? Valentine’s Day can be a super fun weekend, or night out with your significant other or your gal pals, but it’s not any fun when you have no idea what to do! Well, fear not! 🙂 I have tons of ideas for fun date ideas or night/day out with the girls!
- Wine tasting! Ok – this is fun no matter who you do it with! Wine and chocolate pairings? I am so there!! If you’re local, definitely check out Old Sugar Mill’s Port Wine, & Chocolate lovers weekend or Lodi’s Wine and Chocolate festival! I have been to both – and they are SO GOOD!
- Old Sugar Mill: So great because they are all in one location. So you can go there and spend the whole day not worrying about getting to the next winery. Keep in mind, most of the places are only serving port wine, so if that’s not for you then maybe just go on another weekend for regular wine tasting! 🙂
- Lodi Wine & Chocolate Festival: OMG. We went last year and had a BLAST! There are participating wineries all over Lodi and they offer full flights of wine! Some did full-on food pairings, others offered little treats (like different flavored popcorn…yum!!) to snack on. However, if you want to fully indulge and take advantage this one will take some planning because it is spread out all over the city! We went down near Main St. and there were plenty of wineries in that location!
- Drive-in movies! I think these are so fun! If it is warm enough where you are, you can bring some folding/lawn chair and blankets or you can always snuggle up inside your car! I love this unique date idea! If you are in Sac, you know how good the drive-in here is! I am so happy it didn’t close!
- Fancy dinner! Of course, there will be many of you where this is your go-to option! It’s always nice to have a special night where you can splurge! This year – try somewhere new you have never been before!
- Murder Mystery Dinner! Or any kind of themed dinner! This is so high on my list! I really want to do a Murder Mystery dinner – especially when they are really into it and they are so well done! Definitely a fun twist on the typical dinner out!
- Cooking Class! I always think this is such a fun idea – plus you get to bring what you learned back home and cook it again! Great for girlfriends or couples or a big group! If you’re in Sacramento, I’ve gone to Napoli Culinary Academy and it was a lot of fun! We did the pizza night, but they have other options too!
- Arts & Crafts! Go to a paint night with your girlfriends and indulge in some wine while you make your masterpiece! Or maybe go with your love to a Color Me Mine and create something special to you guys! Maybe even get more adventurous and try pottery?! Local ladies – have you tried Painted Cork? I have gone multiple times with my mom and sister and we love it! They do a great job with instructions and it’s always a good time!
- Bar crawl! This would be super fun if you are single and ready to mingle or celebrating with your besties! Create your own, or find one in your city to join! Here is Sac, Xoso has their colors crawl so you can easily show if you are single, undecided or off the market! 🙂
- Weekend Getaway! Is there a nearby place you can go and have a romantic weekend? Mine and Aaron’s first Valentine’s Day we spent the weekend in San Francisco, going to the beach by the Golden Gate bridge, and special dinner and a fun boat cruise underneath the bridges! So nice to take a break from your everyday scenery and explore new places together!
- Spa Day! This one is probably one of my favorites because who doesn’t love getting pampered! Look into couples massages so you and your man can enjoy together! Or get a group of your girlfriends and enjoy some facials!
- Stand-up Comedy Show! This is such a fun night out! We have gone to a few and I absolutely love them! They are such a blast and a total ab workout – ya know, from all the laughing 😉 Our favorites in Sacramento are Punch Line and Laughs Unlimited!
- Play/Theater! Sooo, I haven’t totally gotten my hubby on board with this one yet. He has begrudgingly gone with me, but I wouldn’t say this is his first date idea. But if you are with your girls or your S.O. does enjoy theater then this is a great option, especially if you live somewhere where they do a traveling Broadway Series! I’m actually going with some friends to see Stomp at California Musical Theather, and I’m so excited!
- Visit a Theme Park! What better way to share your love than holding hands on roller coasters? Whether it be a local theme park, Six Flags, Disney, Universal – all will guarantee a fun-filled day!
- At Home Movie Night! Grab the popcorn and junk food, put on your coziest PJs and wrap up in a blanket! So fun to have all your girls on the couch together or snuggle up next to your boo.
- Concert! If you love music, this is a great idea…especially if the stars align and there is a concert going on where you live! We did this last year and it was such a fun way to celebrate – getting to see a band we both really enjoy and spending time with each other!
If you’re uber pre-pared like me…tell me in the comment what your Valentine’s Day plans are!! Xoxoxo
