Thanksgiving 2020 Look Book

November 10, 2020

A little hard to believe that we are 2 weeks and 2 days away from Thanksgiving, right? The days before COVID seem like a lifetime ago, but at the same time – I feel like this whole year has blown by. Maybe we are ready for it to finish so we can start fresh? Whether we are counting down the days until 2021, or are still savoring this time…the Holidays are always the best and need to be celebrated no matter what kind of year we have had!

We are so excited because we agreed to host this year! We always talked about when we got into our house that we would host both of our families for some of the holidays, and Thanksgiving was no exception! We have never hosted Thanksgiving nor have we ever cooked a turkey, so that should be interesting! But, whether I burn the turkey or not (fingers crossed all goes well), I know I will be looking cute! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I have rounded up some outfit ideas no matter how you are celebrating! Whether you get dressed up or keep it casual, I put together some inspo for you! It starts dressier and the further you scroll down, the more casual it will get!

Many of these looks were put together with some adorable pieces from SheIn! Be sure to use code DANIELLE15Q1 for 15% off your order! (The outfits where that discount is applicable will be noted).

FALLing Over These 4 Trends this Season

October 21, 2020

We are in the heart of Autumn and even though the weather in Sacramento refuses to cooperate – we are still in the high 80s here (which was an improvement from the mid 90s last week) – and all I want to do is start dressing for Fall! I love the new trends each season brings. Some continue to come back season after season and others are new (or we haven’t seen in a few decades!). I love both. And you know what I love even more? Not spending a ton, especially when I am experimenting with new trends. I love that all of these are super affordable – plus you can save 15% when you use code DANIELLE15Q1!

1. Fall Florals & Puff Sleeves
I realize this is kind of two trends in one, but when you can get the combo of both – it’s magical! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I have been aboard the puff sleeve train for awhile. I think it is so fun – and hello…you look absolutely fabulous on zoom! Such a great way to add some spice to your look when people can also see you from the elbows up! This floral dress has all the things – gorgeous floral pattern, puff ruched sleeves, and the fun wrap detail in the front!

2. [Faux] Leather
Whether it be leather jackets, leggings or pants – I want it all! I’ve been eyeing faux leather paper bag pants and joggers for awhile, so when I saw these faux leather pants, I thought they were the perfect pair to try (and the perfect price point!). I love it paired with sweater or pretty blouse! This sweater is so perfect because it’s not too chunky and has the prettiest lace detail …the best of both worlds! Pair with mules for the office or heels for a date night out! Also, how fun would these be for a Thanksgiving look? Although, I’m not sure if they are stretchy enough for a food belly!

3. Menswear Jackets / Boyfriend Blazers
I adore this trend and I love how many different ways you can style them! They are so chic and you can make it look super classy or very trendy! I paired this tweed blazer one with distressed denim, heels and a hat – but how chic would this look with a black turtleneck underneath? Or even paired with a lace cami and black jeans/faux leather leggings and boots? Ahh – the options are endless!

4. Matching Sets
I feel like this really took off at the on-set of the shelter in place. Maybe because you were technically wearing sweats, but you felt more together? Either way…I’m still here for it and I am loving getting some more fall inspired matching sets. Like this 3-piece ribbed knit set…OMG …it’s so good. I love that you can wear these all together or separate. The cardigan would look so cute with a tee and jeans!

4 Affordable Fall Looks!

October 2, 2020

Oh my goodness – how is it already October? This year has flown by! Anyone else think it’s absolutely crazy that we have been in this pandemic for over 6 months now? Really hoping this last few months look a little better!

What better way to kick off October and the beginning of Fall with some shopping…but for clothes your wallet will thank you for! I love that all of these looks have pieces that are super affordable. Now who is ready to add to their fall wardrobe? Use code DANIELLE15Q1 for an additional 15% off your order!

Color-block Sweaters
I love that color-blocking continues to be super popular! I think it a fun way to break up a top or outfit, that isn’t necessarily stripes! I love both of these sweaters and how even though they both have color-blocking, they are completely different and can be styled totally different as well! I also think both of these color combos are perfect for fall! You have the jewel toned colors in one, and my favorite neutral combos of tan, cream, and black on another!

Color-Blocked Sweater | Ripped Black Jeans | Sunglasses | Mules
Color-Blocked Sweater | Belt Bag | Jeans (Similar) | Shoes (Similar)

Floral Midi Dress
Just because it’s Fall doesn’t mean the floral patterns need to stop! Pick darker floral prints and layer over with a solid color cardigan to tone it down more too! I love the wine and olive colors in this dress! Two of my favorite fall colors.

Floral Dress | Cardigan | Booties | Hat | Sunglasses

Sweater Dress
Give me all the sweater dresses when it comes to fall! I love the idea of sweater dresses, because you get the coziness of a sweater, with the chic look of a dress. Plus, they are great to wear in this transition time when it is still warm outside but you want the fall feels!

6 Ways to Style Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

September 29, 2020

Leopard Sweater | Spanx Leggings | Lace Up Booties | Spanx DUPES!

Last year, I invested in a pair of Spanx faux leather leggings – and let me tell you, they are worth every single penny and I have hands down gotten my money’s worth! I have the standard faux leather solid leggings and the quilted faux leather leggings. I love them both! They are a great staple to add to your closet and are so versatile! They were definitely a go-to when I was going into the office, but can be dressed down for weekends and errands, or dressed up for a night out! Plus they are comfy enough to still wear while you work from home! The opportunities are endless! So today, I am sharing 6 different ways I style my Spanx leggings…

Flannel Top – There are so many ways you can work this! A flannel top is another great fall staple to have in your wardrobe because it can be styled so many ways…especially when paired with faux leather leggings! For a totally causal look, you could layer it over a tee with sneakers. Dress it up by buttoning the flannel and adding booties and kick it up another notch by adding a fun jacket or fur vest!

Flannel | Quilted Faux Fur Leather Leggings | V-Neck | Fur Vest | Booties | Tennis Shoes

Over Sized Cardigan – Another comfy and semi-casual way to style your Spanx leggings. Over sized Cardigans are the epitome of fall so you can never go wrong with adding that to a pair of Spanx. Interchange your shoes, accessories, and top to dress it up or down.

Oversized Cardigan | Striped Tee | Quilted Faux Leather Leggings | Booties

Poncho – Does anything scream I want to be in a pumpkin patch or apple orchard more than a plaid poncho? I don’t think so! Pair it with your Spanx, over the knee boots, and a hat and you’re ready to go!

Poncho (similar) | Spanx Faux Leather Leggings | OTK Boots (similar) | Hat

Tunic Blouse – Depending on the type of blouse, this can be great for the office or for a night out on the town. Add a belt to define your waist and give it a more tailored look.

Tunic Top | Belt | Spanx Faux Leather Leggings | Booties

Boyfriend Blazer – Another great look for the office or when you want to add a little edge to your outfit. Pair with a lace tank or long tunic to change up the look.

Tunic Top | Boyfriend Blazer | Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

Sweater – Adding a sweater is definitely my go-to style when it comes to Spanx leggings. Most sweaters are long enough where you feel comfortable to pair it with leggings, plus you look chic while being SO comfortable! I love pairing my sweaters and Spanx with ankle booties or over the knee boots! Plus you can never go wrong with adding a hat.

30 Lessons I’ve Learned in 30 Years

August 29, 2020

Wow – the day is here…the big 3-0. This day seemed so far off for a long time and then it quickly approached. It’s funny to think what I thought my life would look like at 30, even just back in my early 20s. I thought I would be married with at least one kid, maybe a second or a second on the way. Although my life doesn’t quite look like that, I couldn’t be happier with where I am at right now – I have an amazing husband who is truly my soulmate, the sweetest fur baby, incredible family and friends, I have a great job and I get to hang out with you all in my little corner of the internet. As I reflect on my first 3 decades of life and all the obstacles I’ve overcome, opportunities I’ve had and just what I’ve experienced, I thought I would share 30 things I learned in my 30 years of life…so here we go!

  1. You are never “too good” for any job. I remember someone giving this advice to me early on in my career and I agree. Don’t stick your nose up at opportunity, even if you think you are more qualified or above it. You never know what you might learn or who you could meet. Also, you can learn so much more about the business by being in the trenches and you never know who you may impress with your willingness to get your hands a little dirty.
  2. Jump in! It is my personality to be a little reserved when I am first getting to know people or start something and hang back. I used to be afraid of what people would think or how they would judge me (seriously I would over analyze that way too much), but then I got to know people and wished I would have put my whole self in sooner. Sometimes it can seem scary to throw yourself in, but the payoff is great!
  3. Don’t Settle. In work, in a partner, or just in life.
  4. Hold true to your values. This one was hard for me for a long time. I had a certain set of values that I wasn’t going to change for anyone. A lot of guys stopped or wouldn’t date me at all because of my values. When I was in high school I got left out of parties or sleepovers because of my values. I was so hurt every time, but looking back I am so glad because I would have been so upset if I had been pressured to change my values for someone else and I caved. It was hard and frustrating through those times, but I am so much happier now because of them.
  5. Find someone who will be your true partner in life. I’m not saying run out and find a guy to marry – but when you are dating, really look for someone who will be your partner through everything. Someone who values you, respects you, wants your opinion, and wants to be a team. Having that kind of foundation is so strong and will help you overcome a lot of hurdles that come your way.
  6. It’s never too late to say sorry or forgive. This can be hard for stubborn people like me, but forgiving is what I was taught as a Christian to do. If you’ve held a grudge for a long time or have been in a disagreement for years, it can be hard to be humble and apologize. In turn, it can also be hard to accept the apology and forgive. No matter how long it’s been, it’s never too late.
  7. Don’t let the small stuff get you down. I used to (and still do) get so upset and worked up over the tiniest things. So much of which you can’t control. It’s so much better on your health and your mindset when you just can let those things go!
  8. Find good best friends. The ones that will lift you up. The ones that make you want to do better. The ones who will be completely honest with you. The ones who maybe aren’t exactly like you. I think as you get older, your circle gets smaller, but it’s because you’re surrounding yourself with the best. So I think it’s great to have multiple best friends, and usually because they are each bringing something different to your life.
  9. Build Your Brand. Each of us has our own personal brand. It’s essentially our reputation. But it’s really how others perceive us when they hear our name, sometimes before they have even met us. Focus on what you want your personal brand to be – and work towards it. Network to expand your brand. Ask for feedback. This is true not only in work life, but in your personal life too.
  10. It’s OK to be vulnerable. This one has been hard for me. I hate being vulnerable. It leaves you too open, too easy to get hurt. When I met Aaron, I was so hesitant to open my heart to him, but I am so thankful I did. Usually every time I’ve been open and vulnerable about something, it has had good payoffs. Whether it be opening my heart to love or to express how I am feeling. Chances are – most of the time – you’re not alone.
  11. It’s never too late to learn or start something new. This could not be more true for me. For years I wanted to start a blog, but was too afraid. I hemmed and hawed over it for a long time. But finally halfway through my 28 year of life, I said lets do this. Am I surrounded by people years younger than me with more experience or time? Yes. Would I change it? No. I think everything happens for a reason, and for whatever reason, I needed to wait and get experience in other areas before I started my blog.
  12. Following your passion is great – but sometimes you need to realign your passions. This one I have to be reminded of constantly. Having dreams and passions are great – but sometimes they just aren’t in the cards for you. I wanted to be an actress all of high school. I was serious about it too. I went on auditions with agents, casting directors, managers – and I could have missed my senior year of high school to move to LA, but my parents said no. So then I went to college in Southern California to be close to all of that and I went to study film. Then I realized I didn’t really want to study film (I wanted to be in it lol), and that marketing made more sense to me so I pursued that. Then I wanted to work in media. I got what people would say was a “dream job” at a radio station. The reality was – it was a ton of work and stress for very little pay. Was that really my dream? Now I still work in media, it just looks a little different and I’ve never been happier.
  13. Don’t stay at a job you’re unhappy at. The reality is you can’t bounce around from job to job. But if it makes you physically unhappy to be there every day where it is effecting your personal life, or you don’t feel like you are being treated right (see above lol), then actively work to find a new career or opportunity.
  14. Say YES to new opportunities – even if they scare you. 100% yes to this. Starting this blog – scared the crap out of me. Going to college and living 400 miles away from my family freaked me out. Every time I’ve started a new job or gotten a promotion, I’ve been nervous. The reality is – they are all amazing growth opportunities and I’ve learned so much with each one. Did I shed a few tears or have frustrations along the way? Sure. But they have all had positive outcomes.
  15. Don’t be afraid to say no. This can be applied to so much. If you don’t drink – don’t be afraid to say no to a party. If you would rather stay at home with your hubby or family, say no to that event. If you’re saving money, it’s OK to say no to happy hours multiple nights of the week. If you’re waiting, don’t be afraid to tell a guy no to sex. These aren’t always easy nos, but it will make you stronger and ultimately happier.
  16. Admit when you’re wrong. Know when you’re wrong and apologize. Even if you thought you were right. This is never easy and takes humility, but your relationships will be better because of it and people will respect you more.
  17. Find a hobby that brings you joy. This can look different to everyone. For me – it’s my blog. Other people, it’s running or working out. Some it’s reading. Find something outside of work that fills up some time that brings you happiness.
  18. It’s OK to do things alone. This one is weird for me, because I am usually one who likes to do things with someone, but some me time is never bad. Go to the movies by yourself. Stay in a hotel alone. Take yourself out to lunch.
  19. Live a healthy lifestyle. I am not just talking about eating right and exercising – which are both important! But also find good habits that motivate you throughout your day. Get rid of toxic people. Spend time with God.
  20. Do what brings YOU joy. Don’t let the world, media, friends, or family dictate how you lead your life – all within reason of course. If staying in and watching movies with your SO makes you happy – do it! If you want to wait to have kids, or never have them at all, that’s up to YOU! If you want to have 10 kids, props to you! If working out 7 days a week makes you feel good, good for you!
  21. Make The most out of your college years. I don’t mean stay out until 4am every night – although those nights usually have good memories ๐Ÿ˜‰ But take the opportunity to try new things, get internships in fields you might enjoy, meet new people, submerge yourself into your experience. I joined a sorority, worked different places, held leadership positions in the Greek system, had internships and I’m so glad I did all of that.
  22. Move to a different city if you have the chance. I know we don’t all have this opportunity, but if you can at least go to college in a different city, I would recommend it. Learning a new area, being far enough away from your parents where you have to learn to take care of yourself, all help you grow so much!
  23. Everything in moderation. Eat that cake! But maybe just have a slice. Enjoy some wine! But maybe not 3 bottles in one night. Enjoy nights out with your friends! But maybe a few times a month. Go shopping! But don’t max out your credit card. You get my drift?
  24. Self Care Time is Important. This means more than face masks and pedicures. This is is listening to your body. Taking time to rest when you’ve over extending yourself. Saying no to another night out with friends so you can have some me time. And of course – pampering yourself too!
  25. Don’t be so busy making plans that you forget to live in the present. This is a HUGE one for me. I am SUCH a planner, I am always planning our next vacation, what activities we are going to do next month, when we will have children. Sometimes things aren’t going to go the way you expect them to
  26. Things happen for a reason. Sometimes things seem unfair or you don’t know why certain things happen. The reason may not make itself clear at the moment, but it usually reveals itself to you in the future. Sometimes the timing just ins’t right, sometimes it wouldn’t be what’s best for you and other times it’s because there is something better waiting. Just remember that God is in control and to trust in Him.
  27. You are uniquely you. There is no one in the world that’s more you-er than you! Thank you Dr. Seuss. But seriously. Love every bit of yourself. You are made perfectly in God’s image. Rather than pick yourself apart, love yourself, build yourself up! You are amazing!
  28. You can’t please everyone – and that’s OK. I used to kill myself trying to make everyone happy. The reality is – we are all different, so that’s just not possible. I had to learn that sometimes people will disagree with what I chose to do or share and that’s OK. As long as I am doing it from a good place with a good heart and I am staying true to myself, that is all I can do.
  29. Live like no one else so you can life like no one else. Thank you Mr. Dave Ramsey for this quote. Really, this is about focusing on your finances. You may have to sacrifice some items to build up your savings or get out of debt – but the more you do earlier on, the better and more set up you will be later. He recommends you and your partner setting a budget as a team, stick to it, and use cash. Let me tell you – when you really follow his recommendations, it’s so helpful!
  30. Life is Short. I know we have all heard this, but really our time on earth is just a pinch in time. Things can change in an instant. Don’t live your life with regret. Say an extra I love you. Try not to go to bed angry. Smile at a stranger. Say yes to things that scare you.

It’s Almost Time to Say Bye to Summer

August 28, 2020

How is it already the last weekend of August? Not that I am complaining, because I really love, love, love Fall – but seriously this year (like every year) continues to fly on by. This year feels a little different though – I’m sure we can all agree. Still such weird times we are living in. I am so ready to transition my wardrobe to sweater and boots, but I know I still have a while. It stays warm here through October. I need to move somewhere where I can have that crisp fall breeze. Anyways – although I am ready to move to all the cozy things, there are still some summer pieces that I just love! Even better – some of these you can totally work into your fall wardrobe. Use code DANIELLE15Q1 for 15% off your purchase on these items!

Some summer favorites include this super fun tie dye maxi dress and gorgeous purple floral dress! Total beach vibes in this maxi – I actually wore it when we went to Capitola and how gorgeous is this purple dress? If only people were having bridal and baby showers this year! This would be perfect.

Now these next three are also great for summer, but I think you can work these into your fall wardrobe very easily!

This off the shoulder dress is gorgeous! The side slits make it very sexy too – and nice in breezy on these hot summer days! Swap heels or sandals to ankle booties, throw on a hat, layer on a jean jacket and voila, you are ready for fall!

Next is this maxi dress. This one is already on it’s way to fall with the mid-arm length sleeves and the warm color palette. Add some fun booties (I would do white or black) and a black wide brim hat! Throw on a moto jacket for an edgier look when it gets cooler at night.

Last up is this paperbag waist skirt. I still love the paper bag trend! I think it gives such cute details to the waistband, and I find them to be super flattering! This one is super easy to transition to fall. Throw on a cardigan and you’re there! I even gave you a little preview ๐Ÿ˜‰

5 Items Worth the Splurge at the #NSale

August 3, 2020

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale always has a ton of great items for fall, but even more, they have great classic pieces that you can wear not only this year but for many years down the line. Since this is a time when so many of these great pieces are on-sale, it’s worth splurging on an item or two. I always like to pick one (or a few!) of these closet staples to get during the sale – and let me tell you – I have gotten my moneys worth ten times over!

1. A Great Pair of Boots
Boots are a fall and winter staple! Investing in a good pair that you can wear all season long and for years to come is something worth splurging on!

2. Your Go-To Jacket or Coat
Whether you’re edgy and lean towards moto jacket or you’re still going into the office and need a classic blazer or if you’re more outdoorsy and prefer a jacket that focuses on warmth or you just need a great winter coat, a jacket is something you know you will wear (and keep) for a long time!

3. The Pants You Never Want to Take Off
I know, I know – a lot of us aren’t putting on pants these days since most of us are working from home. BUT – for those days where you actually do leave your house, having those pants that are comfortable enough they could be leggings (ok – so I did include a pair of SPANX leggings, but they are basically pants!)!

4. Athletic Shoes
Whether you are a workout queen or not, a good pair of athletic shoes is always good to have in your closet! And hey – maybe it will give you that motivation you need to get that workout routine going!

5. Your Main Accessory
Accessories are essential! Finding the perfect bag that can work with tons of outfits and through the seasons is one that is definitely worth spending a little extra money on!

About Me

29 Highlights of 29

August 1, 2020

Today is the start of my birthday month! Which also means I only have 29 days left of being 29! AKA – 29 days left of my 20s! Wow! I honestly feel like my 20th birthday was not that long ago. I remember it so perfectly…it was the day before we started school and everyone was back in town so we celebrated all weekend long! A bunch of my friends did a tailgate for the Angels game every year, so I started the celebration there, we went out that night and then the next day I had a big dinner with all my friends. It was the perfect way to kick off my twenties and I remember thinking how fortunate I was to have so many wonderful people in my life. Closing out my twenties I have that same sentiment, and I’m so grateful for everything I’ve been able to do and all the opportunities I’ve been able to accomplish. This has been a really weird past few months, but I wanted to end on a high note – so I am sharing 29 highlights from my 29th year!

Kicking off my 20s!

1. We bought a home!! – Probably the biggest highlight of my 29th year! This was a struggle and took a lot of patience, praying, and trusting – but we found the perfect home for us!

2. I kicked off my Golden Year with a Roaring Twenties Party – This was so much fun and the perfect way to kick off the last year in my twenties and my golden birthday ๐Ÿ™‚ We all dressed in our best roaring twenties garb and had the best time at the Hamilton House!

3. Taking my Birthday Off of Work – Probably the nicest and most relaxing way to kick off 29! For the very first time, I took my birthday off from work! I got to spend the day with my mom getting brunch, manicures, and massages. Then it ended with Aaron and I having an amazing dinner!

4. I got to spend more time with my Mom, Dad & Sister – Having Aaron and I move in with my parents was not what I was planning on in my late twenties, but it was really to nice to get to spend extra time with my family and getting to see them every day.

5. Getting to experience working from home – I think this pandemic has been frustrating, scary, and annoying to all of us, but it has been really great to see what working full time from home would look like! And I think it does come with a lot of perks!

6. Spending more time with Zekey Boy – One of the best parts of working from home this year was how much extra time I get to spend with my fur baby! Nothing makes me happier when I get off a call to come out and give my pup some love and cuddles for a minute before getting back to work.

7. Getting to see and spend quality time with my Nana, Uncle, and Cousins – This wasn’t under the happiest of circumstances, as my Nana’s cancer took an aggressive turn – but my Mom, Dad, Sister, and I hopped in the car in a moments notice to drive down to Arizona and spend time with my family as we didn’t know how much time left my Nana had. We had undivided family time and I got to spend some quality time with my Nana, which didn’t happen too often growing up, so I really treasure that last visit I got to have with her.

8. A weekend getaway to Mendocino and Fort Bragg with Aaron and Zeke – This was my little birthday gift to Aaron and it was so fun to head up the California coast to the beautiful Mendocino Coast. And this was the first time we took Zekey on a vacation with us – let me tell you…he did great! I also got to see where Aaron went to college and play baseball! A great little getaway

9. So many great date nights with the hubs – I love that we still make an effort to have special date nights – from going to a restaurant opening, to going out during restaurant week, a night out at Flatstick Pub, dinner on the Delta King, so many fun nights enjoying our new backyard and so much more in-between! Love getting to spend time with my number 1!

10. Becoming More Confident in my Blog – I celebrated my first year of blogging during 29 and I love that I have kept this going and have continued to work and it and find more ways to grow – all while still enjoying it int the process!

11. So many fun collaborations! – Speaking of my blog…I have been blessed this year to work on some awesome collaborations from MVMT to Total Wine to Vici to Loft to Yasso Ice Cream! It has been so fun to partner with these different brands and work on creating new and fun content along the way!

12. Growing Professionally – Along with getting to grow my blog, I have also worked to continue to grow in my job at work! I look at where I was a year ago and I am always so happy to see how my continuing to push myself and continuously learn and evolve has really paid off!

13. Traveling more for work – My new position has allowed me to travel more (within our areas in California), which as been really fun! I became a train regular going to our Bay Area office and I got to go to Vegas for a yearly conference.

14. Making the most out of work travel – There is nothing I love more when I get to travel somewhere for work where my friends live! We have an office in Fresno, so I love when I get to go down there because that always leaves time to see one of my best friends for a night!

15. Working on my health – Wow…I just saw a photo of myself right around my 29th birthday and it kind of took me by surprise. I didn’t realize how I had let myself go…but I did make a focus this year to re-focus on my health. I did group training with one of my best friends as my amazing personal trainer and a few months ago, I really started to look at what I was eating every day and made some changes and adjustments for a healthier lifestyle! I love how I am feeling and looking forward to continuing down this path in my 30th year!

16. Apple Hill – twice! – Apple Hill is one of my favorite places to go every fall! Last year I got to go twice! One with girlfriends on a very unusually cold September day – but we got pastries and took tons of pics! And other time with Aaron and Zeke! That was Zeke’s first big adventure with us and he did so good and was so cute exploring!

17. Girls weekend in Napa – With all of our busy schedules, it’s hard to find a time when we can get together! So I had such a blast spending the day in Napa with two of my best girlfriends! Just enjoying good wine and good company!

18. Vegas with Friends – One of those kind of last minute trips that you just say yes to and you’re glad you did! Fun time in Vegas with the hubs and our friends! Enjoyed some time by the pool and we got to see 50 Cent perform!

19. The most fun Halloween Costume with my Coworker – My coworker, who is also a good friend of mine, and I both love the TV show, FRIENDS. She was pregnant last fall so we did a Fat Monica and Rachel throwback when they go to visit Ross at college. Let me say – we nailed it ๐Ÿ˜‰

20. Too many fun photo shoots – Whether it was days with my mom or some of my blogger gals – fun photo shoots where we pick a destination or a “theme” is always so fun and gives me the best memories!

21. California Love Music Video at Work – When you get to be completely ridiculous with your coworkers and make an awesome music video that gets shared around the company – you know you had a great time and made something awesome!

22. Women of Sacramento BRUNCH – I was so looking forward to this, and it was actually a gift for my birthday! Got to go with some of my girls and get so inspired my some incredible women in our area!

23. Visiting our friends in San Diego – even amid this crappy pandemic, we still got to enjoy a weekend away visiting some of our best friends in San Diego! The weekend was filled with laughs, a beach day, rooftop BBQ and some great quality time.

24. Celebrating my friends Bachelorette in Paso Robles – There was a small window of time when things were open in California, and it aligned perfectly with one of my best friends’s bachelorette party! Nothing beats sipping delicious wine with great friends!

25. Sister time – I love that as we’ve gotten older, my sister and I have continued to get closer! I love our girls days and nights and we have had some fun ones from a day in San Francisco seeing the Harry Potter play, to kayaking, to just hanging out at the house!

26. Good Quality time with my parents – I love having special things that I do with my mom or with my dad! A highlight for me will always be watching the Cowboys play with my dad – I love that I got to do that practically every weekend with him last year! And any shopping day, or getting to see a play (we got to see Dear Evan Hansen this year!), or taking photos with my Mom is special!

27. Decorating our new home – I don’t know what else feels more adulting than getting completely excited to buy a couch, headboard, and a dining room table! I have loved turning our new house into a home and can’t wait to continue!

28. Took time to slow down – I was always such a go, go, go kind of person. It has been nice this second half of my 29th year to sort of being forced to slow down. Not having plans every weekend, giving myself time to rest, time to be with our families and with Aaron has been really nice! More movie nights on the couch, please!

29. Focusing on happiness – As we grow older, I think our happiness looks different. I have really worked on finding the joy in little things, to be happy with where my life is at. I know it’s hard to not compare yourself or think you should be at a different spot in your life, but I think it’s great to just be very happy with where you are at! I really am so blessed and do have a very grateful heart for everything I’ve had and for an incredible (although some of it definitely looked different than what I thought it would look like) 29th year.

Peace out 29!! In 29 short days, I’ll be joining the 30s club! Let the countdown begin!
