Cause my shoes are too boot-ylicious for ya baby
Ok, ok I’ll stop. I just couldn’t stop myself and you can never go wrong with a little Destiny’s Child lol. Anyways…I just love boot season! As soon as the weather starts getting cooler, I whip out all my boots and of course am always on the prowl for any new ones that might catch my eye. I love all kinds of boots! Booties, mid-calf, over the knee… you name it!
BUT – I have the HARDEST time finding any sort of boot that goes over my calf. Why you ask? Well, I inherited seriously THE biggest calves from my Dad and MeMaw…and maybe before that too. They are very large, muscular calves which have ALWAYS made boot shopping a problem.
I remember being in middle school and having super cute boots that I just couldn’t zip over my calves. I didn’t really realize or know that not all calves (or boots) were created equal …and what a confidence killer for a pre-teen. When I really started to get back into tall boots, I had the hardest time. They would either scrunched at the bottom, or there was just no hope of getting them on at all. When I started to realize there was such a thing as wide-calf I searched high and low with minimal luck of finding cute and trendy boots. Some that I found were still too tight around my calf 🙁 I even tried look for some at Lane Bryant and those were actually too big for me. I knew there just had to be something I could find in the middle.
So, enough with the sob story. For the past two years, I have finally found my two FAVORITE places to purchase any sort of wide-calf boot and it makes me so happy! They offer a huge selection of super cute and trendy wide-calf boots (and wide-width if you struggle with that!)!! It makes me so happy that I can find designer dupes and boots I used to just dream of owning. Also – when you sign up to be a VIP you get them for a KILLER price. I’m talking a fraction of the cost of what you would pay for designer boots!
I own multiple boots from these two retailers and have been so happy with the quality that I receive! Wide-calf girls, I promise you will not feel short-changed at all!
Also, a little note about the VIP program that they both offer. It is essentially a monthly subscription. However, if you don’t have the money or aren’t in the market for shoes (both offer clothes and accessories too!) then you can easily skip the month at no penalty! If you don’t skip the month, the amount you get charged will be stored as a credit to use at any time! The prices for VIP are lower and offer tons of additional discounts! I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten shoes that are on even more of a sale than the VIP price! Lastly, when you sign up they usually offer an amazing sign-up deal. For one I got my first pair of shoes for only $10 and the other I got a BOGO free!!
One more thing – this is in no way sponsored by this company or either retailer. It has seriously just been that life-changing to find a place that makes so many options of wide calf boots, and ones that don’t have a huge stretch area in the back (that honestly totally kills the look). If you have had trouble searching for boots – give this a try! Like I said I have been shopping at these places for 2 years and I still love it!
*SIZING – First off, all my boots were bought in the WIDE CALF. I am typically a size 9. In any tall boots from these retailers, I go up a 1/2 size and get the 9.5. This is great so I can wear thicker socks and I think it also gives just a little extra room in the calf area.
